There is no evidence of shortages of education and training professionals. Employment opportunities in the public education sector remain limited due to the restrictions on recruitment in the public sector. The demand for education and training is likely to increase due to: the need to up-skill or re-skill large numbers of unemployed persons in order to improve their employability and a greater number of school leavers entering third level education combined with a greater number of students opting to remain in education for longer periods.
