The Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland launched ‘The Soloist’ for the first time last year. The winner, 17ry old soprano Megan Ruby Walsh, has since performed with the Orchestra to audiences in excess 30,000 at Carnegie Hall, New York and venues throughout Ireland including the Simmonscourt Arena, RDS, Dublin and the Odyssey Arena Belfast.

Following the success of last year’s competition, the CBOI is now launching The Soloist 2015.

The Soloist is open to amateur musicians, singers and dancers between the ages of 12 – 30 years from Ireland and N. Ireland. Contestants must be SOLOISTS and can sing, play and instrument or dance. Contestants can perform in any genre: Classical, Pop, Traditional, Jazz, Folk, Country, other.

The Prize for the winning soloist includes:

  • 1.The opportunity to perform with the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland to audiences in excess of 30,000 throughout Ireland
  • 2.€1,000 CASH PRIZE
  • 3.The possibility of an invitation to perform with the CBOI internationally
