Bachelor of Business in Digital Media Marketing – SG539

I.T. Sligo is in the process of re-vamping its current suite of marketing programmes in line with current industry trends. As a result, SG531 Bachelor of Business in Marketing in Event Management and Public Relations will no longer be offered.

Unfortunately, this means that students will need to remove this from their CAO application. However, we have many alternatives that students may wish to consider in place of this course. If they are interested in Event Management, students may wish to consider our programme SG135 Bachelor of Business in Tourism with Event Management.

We also have a new and exciting course commencing in September – our SG539 Bachelor of Business in Digital Media Marketing. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to join this brand new course which has been created in line with changing industry requirements. For more information on this course email Ann Higgins, Department Head, at or call +353 71 9137220. In addition, our existing SG533 Bachelor of Business in Marketing or SG532 Bachelor of Business in Marketing and Languages offer exciting opportunities for marketing graduates.

BEng in Construction Cost Management – SG339
The Level 7 degree in Construction Cost Management is a re-title of the Quantity Surveying degree which is a well-established course at IT Sligo and for many years has attracted students who wish to become involved in the area of construction costing. The change of title from Quantity Surveying to Construction Cost Management has taken place to reflect the current needs of the construction industry such as sustainable/environmental construction practices and renovations. The course also uses the latest construction computer software. Graduates from this Level 7 course have an opportunity to progress to the final year of the Level 8 programme in Quantity Surveying.

Graduates of the course will gain a valuable practical knowledge and skills set and have been very successful in getting jobs. A recent Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland Employer Survey found that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find graduate surveyors to fill vacant jobs – graduate numbers are forecasted to fall far short of the requirements of the industry in the coming years. Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accounting – SG146

For those students interested in pursuing a career in accounting, this course offers one of the fastest routes to achieving a professional accounting qualification. After three years graduates will hold an honours degree in accounting and in addition the course currently attracts full exemptions from CAP1 examinations with Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI) and generous exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and Certified Public Accountants (CPA).
