What is the points system?

Posted by Francis O' Toole on January 27, 2009

The CAO has put a points system in place for those wanting to go to college or university.  Admission into college is determined by the points totalled from graders achieved in your six best examination subjects. www.cao.ie

hi, just wondering if you could help me out. Live in England at the moment and feel very keen to start studying in Ireland, how would my grades translate to the qualifications requested for an Irish uni and do you know where I might be able to look into some kind of student visa? Thanks very much,
    William

    • Hi William,

You can still apply to an Irish college via the CAO under late applications which are accepted up to 1st May 2008. If you go to http://www.cao.ie you will find lots of information that will be of help. You can also via the CAO website make contact with the CAO who will gladly help with your enquiries. Regards, Francis
